GABI REJECTS XAVI’S ADVANCES

Atletico Madrid skipper Gabi has rejected former Barcelona Xavi Hernandez’s advances. Xavi wanted the talented defender in his team in Qatar as he takes over as the coach of Al-Sadd.

Gabi decided to repay the loyalty Atletico have shown him over the years. The Madrid-basedoutfit are desperate to keep their players who were looking to exit the club on the basis of lack of ambition. The club only recently convinced star player Antoine Griezmann to remain at the club and they showed their huge ambitions by signing Thomas Lemar from Monaco for £60 million. The club also had to renew deals for players in order to retain them.

Xavi Hernandez is not impressed by Barcelona’s summer transfers

After having spent 18 years performing for Barcelona and lifting just about every trophy at club level there is to win, Xavi Hernandez would later go on to join the Qatari outfit Al Sadd.


During his time spent in Camp Nou, Xavi became one of the most highly rated midfielders in the world of football as his influence in the Spanish club cannot be overlooked.

It was thanks to the combination of: Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez that Barcelona became one of the most dominant teams in Europe.

Even though Xavi is no longer a player of Barcelona, the experienced player is still up to date with everything that goes on involving his former team and there are rumors going on claiming that he could make a return to Camp Nou maybe as a coach or become part of the staff team as his time as an actual player is almost up.

The summer transfer window of 2017 recently shut down and Xavi Hernandez believes that Barcelona could have done a much better job as the experienced midfielder gave his thoughts concerning the summer transfer activities of his former club. Xavi on Recruiting Players that Ditched Barca in Past

Xavi doesn’t think that someone who turned his back on Barcelona during his teenage and joined some other club should be allowed to make his way back into the set-up of the Spanish giants ever again.


It’s being rumoured at the moment that Barcelona is after Hector Bellerin who came to their academy as a kid in 2003 and spent 8 years there before taking an offer from Arsenal to be a part of their youth squad.

Bellerin has since then gone on to feature for the senior team of the Gunners as well and in the last couple of seasons, he has been one of the most promising young defenders in the English Premiership which has probably prompted Barcelona to try and add him back to their ranks. Xavi Hernandez wants to make an impact beyond the pitch

At the age of 37, the playing career of Xavi Hernandez is reaching it’s final stages but the Spanish midfielder who is currently performing for the Qatari based club Al Sadd has stated that he wants to do a number of things to continue being involved and helping the world of football even if its no longer as an actual player.


Xavi Hernandez joined Al Sadd on May of 2015 but a few of the reasons of why he decided to make this move is due to the fact that the veteran midfielder would also become the ambassador for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The experienced player is also earning his coaching badges as Xavi Hernandez is not showing any signs of slowing down even if his contributions might not be in the actual pitch in itself, the Spanish midfielder does want to remain relevant and influential in football at least in some one way or another.

“I’m not just in Qatar to play football. I want to be a coach.My objective is to work and help Qatar in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. I want to go far. Of course, it’s an option. It’s an option which I would like. It’s an objective to help them have a good World Cup in 2022, and then in my mind I have it to come back to Barcelona. PEREZ WANTS PIQUE TO QUIT FOOTBALL

Former Spanish football Alfonso Perez has asked Barcelona defender Gerard Pique to quit international football in the shirt of Spain due to his political beliefs, according to reports.


Perez, who used to play for Barcelona and Real Madrid, asked the player not to make himself available any longer as he wanted Catalonia to get independence from Spain. Pique has said that he would retire from international duty after the 2018 World Cup. He is openly supporting a referendum on the independence of Catalonia. He was accused of cutting the flag of Spain off the sleeves of his kit.

Perez compared Pique’s action to that of former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola who played friendly games for Catalonia during his playing career without renouncing the Spanish national team.

“It would have been most honest if Guardiola, being such a Catalan, would have renounced the Spanish national team. I am not against the Catalans. My son was born in Barcelona and if I was radical he would have been born in Madrid or Seville. I have nothing against Catalans, but I do against those pushing for independence,” Perez said. CATALONIA CAN BE A WORLD CLASS TEAM – XAVI

Xavi Hernandez, FC Barcelona legend has said that he believes that if allowed to participate in competitions held by the FIFA, the current Catalonian International football team would be one of the top 10 teams in the world.


With Catalonia getting ready to hold a referendum in September 2017 regarding its independence, Xavi believes that there are a lot of exceptionally talented players in the team. He is also holds the view that with such players, they can go on to become a world-class team.

So far, Xavi has represented Catalonia 12 times throughout his playing career. However, the 36-year old did not rule out the possibility of managing the team in the nearest future.

“You never know. You can never close any door. It’s very early to start making predictions but it’s one of the ideas, coming home to coach in Barcelona, in Catalonia. It’s my home and I feel very comfortable there.

Xavi Advices Jose Mourinho to Focus on Football Not War

Xavi Hernandez says that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho should try to avoid confrontation when things are not going well for him.


Mourinho has a reputation of falling out with opposition managers and the football Association on numerous occasions. Xavi, though, has seen a trend where the Portuguese goes on a rampage only when things are not going well for him. It is exactly the scenario at Manchester United right now. The Red Devils are clearly falling out of the title race and Mourinho has been unable to prevent the slide. He has already been caught up with two FA charges in the last two weeks.

It is widely expected that Mourinho may face a lengthy touchline ban as a result of his recent incidents. Xavi, though, has advised the former Real Madrid boss to focus on football rather than creating a war. The former Barcelona midfielder played under one of the coolest bosses in world football, Pep Guardiola.
