Every Barcelona fan Andy anyone else associated with the Spanish La Liga giants hoping to see Xavi as their manager anytime soon will have to wait a little further as the former midfielder has extended his contract as Al-Sadd manager. Xavi has continued to be linked with the managerial role at the Camp Nou even after being appointed as the permanent boss at Al-Sadd.
Barce eventually appointed Ronald Koeman to replace the removed Setien, but the rumors have continued to find their way around. Since the arrival of Koeman, Barca have had mixed fortunes and while sometimes it looks like the board has grown tired of the Dutch manager and wants to get rid of him, other times, it appears that he has the support of the club’s bosses.
It was reported earlier in the month that the former Southampton and Everton manager is under probation at the Spanish club and will be leaving at the end of the season if he does not meet their objectives. The belief is that he will be asked to leave the role at the end of the current campaign if he is unable to help Barca win the La Liga title, with Xavi the man on the list of his likely replacements.
According to reports, Barca will look at other options if they fail to lure Xavi back to the club.
